From the sweet scent of a freshly lit cigar to the complex subtleties of a pipe blend, I’ve devoted a great chunk of my life to understanding and appreciating the fine art of tobacco craftsmanship.
My journey in the tobacco industry started nearly 20 years ago when I joined the well-regarded firm of Philip Morris International. Over the years, I worked in various roles ranging from quality control to new product development. I’ve even had the pleasure of being involved in the launch of some premium cigars that are now favorites among aficionados. This experience has given me a unique insight into the process that transforms a simple leaf into an exquisite smoke.
Then, I had a stint at British American Tobacco where I was lucky enough to work with some of the industry’s leading tobacco specialists. This was an enriching experience that honed my skills and cemented my reputation as a tobacco connoisseur. My expertise was recognized with the prestigious “Blender of the Year” award in 2018.
Currently, I live in the beautiful country of Spain, a place that boasts a rich history of cigar making. It’s been an exciting adventure living here and exploring the local tobacco culture.
But enough about work, let’s talk hobbies! When I’m not enthralled with tobacco, I’m either sailing along the Spanish coast or exploring the magnificent Spanish countryside on my bike. Spain’s diverse landscapes are a never-ending source of joy for me.
As for books, I’m a bit of an Agatha Christie enthusiast. I enjoy how her mysteries unfold much like the complex notes of a well-aged cigar, both keeping you in suspense till the very end.
And I guess you can call me an amateur chef. I love experimenting with Mediterranean flavors. Nothing beats a well-cooked paella, a glass of local Spanish wine, and a fine cigar to finish the evening!
